Position Summary:

The Welcome Desk Coordinator will provide administrative support at Beth El Synagogue – a large, dynamic Conservative congregation in St. Louis Park, MN. The entire staff and clergy team at Beth El Synagogue enjoy a collaborative work environment focused on serving the needs of the congregation. Key job requirements for the Welcome Desk Coordinator will be to provide a warm and welcoming presence to congregants and outside callers while ensuring the building security protocols are followed.

This is a part-time position that reports to the Associate Director.

Compensation is $16/hour at 20 hours per week in set shifts.

WELCOME DESK COORDINATOR

Provides excellent customer service by warmly welcoming all guests and checking them into our building following our security protocols.

Notify relevant staff when visitors arrive for scheduled appointments.

Manage the phones:

Answer and direct incoming calls

Clearing and directing all voicemails left after hours

Breakdown the phones for storage over the weekend and set up on Monday mornings.

Accept and route daily mail and accept packages as needed.

Keep the Welcome Desk clean and organized.

  • High school diploma or GED or previous experience in a similar role.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Constant Contact, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software
  • Familiarity with Jewish customs preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Organized and has great attention to details.
  • Has discretion with confidential and sensitive issues.
