Or Emet, the Minnesota Congregation for Humanistic Judaism, is a caring and stimulating community of people who embrace a human-centered philosophy that combines reason and science with a celebration of Jewish culture and identity.
Or Emet offers a Humanistic Jewish alternative for cultural Jews and humanists who wish to celebrate Judaism in a creative and continually evolving community that includes singles, families and children of all ages. We welcome all who identify with the history and culture of the Jewish people. Our congregants and guests come from many walks of life.
Interested in attending a service, school program, or special event? We encourage visitors! Please check Or Emet’s calendar for upcoming events. Most programs are free and open to the public, and the first session of Cultural School is also complimentary.
Or Emet is an affiliate of the Society for Humanistic Judaism (SHJ), an international movement based in Detroit, Mich. SHJ has affiliates in North and South America, Israel, Europe and Australia. We also belong to Big Tent Judaism, an organization working for a broad and inclusive form of Cultural Judaism.
