Rosh HaShanah at the Arboretum

This is an integrated intergenerational experience for children and their parents, grandparents, or other loving adults. It will include a brief worship service with singing, a story, and shofar blowing as well as beekeeping & apple harvesting workshops.

On Rosh Hashanah we offer blessings to our family and friends for a sweet new year! There is a tradition to dip apples in honey as a way of physically tasting the sweetness of the new year on our tongues. This Rosh Hashanah experience takes this tradition to a new level!!

In addition to getting a taste of a Rosh Hashanah worship service geared toward families, we will also literally get a taste of the apples and honey produced here in Minnesota. Professional educators from the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum of the University of Minnesota will lead us in two interactive workshops in beekeeping and apple harvesting. This is a hands on and interactive experience for those looking to get outside and experience the joy of the holiday in a new way!
