I’m rocking out (in a jazzy sort of way) to Shlomo Gronich (on vocals and keyboard) and international jazz flute sensation Mattan Klein, who is coming to the Twin Cities on Saturday night, May 14th for a performance at the Loring Theater with an all-star ensemble of local jazz musicians (Chris Lomheim, Kevin Rowe and Joel Arpin).
Klein has played Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center in D.C., the 92nd Street Y in NYC, and the Tel Aviv International Jazz Festival – and TCJewfolk is giving away two free pair of tickets for you to see him at the Loring Theater in Minneapolis, plus a discount! Read more below, but click play and listen to this video while you read!
Mattan Klein is one of today’s hottest jazz and world music flutists. He’s also an Israeli, born and bred in Jerusalem, although he was training as a musician at the age of 7 and traveling and performing at the age of 13. He studied in Jerusalem at the Rubin Academy of Music, in Boston at Berkelee School of Music and then went global, performing everywhere from NYC to Vietnam, and back again.
His show at the Loring Theater in Minneapolis (1407 Nicollet Avenue South) will start at 9pm on Saturday, May 14th (doors open at 8pm). The show is $25 in advance, or $30 at the door, but you get a special discount as a TCJewfolk reader.
Call the box office at 612-353-6781 and ask for the “TCJew” discount – $5 off a regular adult ticket to the show (you have to call to get the discount). Student tickets are pretty sweet as well – just $15.
But the important question…
How can you win a free pair of tickets to see Mattan Klein at the Loring Theater?
Answer this question in the comments below before Tuesday, May 10th at midnight for your chance to win: Who is your favorite jazz musician and why? We’re drawing the two winners randomly, so there’s no correct answer. Good luck!
