And you thought your Bubbe made the firmest, largest, most delicious matzo balls? Sorry – not anymore.
New Yorkers broke the Guinness record this week for the world’s largest matzo ball by wheeling out a ball weighing 267 pounds, made of 1,000 eggs, 80 pounds of margarine, 20 pounds of chicken base, and 200 pounds of matzo meal.
The matzo ball was unveiled to celebrate an October NBA game between Israeli basketball team Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv and the New York Knicks to benefit an Israeli orphanage and educational center, Migdal Ohr. The Israeli team will also be playing the L.A. Clippers. If you want to see either game (October 18th in New York and October 20th in Los Angeles), check out the tickets here.
