JFCS NextGen continues on its path to shake up the status quo through a host of innovative and dynamic events. NextGen brings to Twin Cities professionals in their 20s and 30s, the Entrepreneurial Speakers Forum Wednesday, May 23, from 6-8:30 p.m. at Chino Latino (2916 Hennepin Ave. S., Minneapolis).
Young professionals are constantly coming up with brilliant business concepts and ideas. Many have expertise in the field or industry that they want to start a business, but do not know where to take the next step.
At the NextGen Forum, Keynote Speaker Danny Zouber, Managing Director of North Sky Capital, will discuss venture capital, how to find investors and how to take a great business concept to the next level. Then, you will hear from an array of successful young entrepreneurs on our panel, including:
- Ross Marcus, Owner of A-List Entertainment, which provides music, performers and other services for parties and events
- Drew Levin, Owner of Turkey To Go—a popular spot at the State Fair, Target Field and Downtown
- Stuart Chazin, President and Founder of The Chazin Group—an advocate, advisor and strategist for business owners seeking to buy or lease commercial real estate
- Amy Zaroff, Principal of Amy Zaroff Events & Designs, which provides event planning services, invitation design and more
- Debra Fiterman Arbit, Majority Partner and Millennial Keynoter at Bridgeworks, LLC, which provides services designed to help businesses bridge generation gaps
The speakers will tell their personal experience of starting a business, what they learned along the way and critical things to know when running a successful business. They will speak on how being a business owner makes them more engaged in the community and participate in a Q-and-A session as well.
The JFCS NextGen Program aims to actively engage young philanthropists ages 21-36. Part of its mission is to provide an opportunity for young professionals to grow personally and professionally through a variety of events, including seminars and a speaker series.
If you’ve ever thought about starting your own business, do not miss NextGen’s Entrepreneurial Speakers Forum. It will begin with networking and a social happy hour at 6 p.m. followed by the panel at 6:30 p.m.
The event is free to NextGen members, $10 for non-members. It will include appetizers and drinks for purchase. You can join NextGen at the door. When you become a member, your gift supports critically needed services specifically chosen by your peers on the NextGen Board.
