Jewish Song of the Week: ‘We Are Together’ by Jay Rapoport

September’s here, and while summer is out, it’s special to get to come back into our year-round communities — our schools, synagogues, and other special Jewish communities. So this felt like the perfect week for a “Hinei Ma Tov” melody! “Hinei Ma Tov” comes from psalms and has been a staple of Jewish communal singing. It means, “behold how good and pleasant is for people to dwell together as one!” This version comes from Jay Rapoport in Chicago and features the artists, cantors, and instrumentalists of JRR’s Chicago Sings group. It’s a total jam and a great reminder that it’s SO nice to be together (again!)
