Jewfolk Wins Two Awards For Excellence In Jewish Journalism

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Cincy Jewfolk, the sibling site of TC Jewfolk, won two Simon Rockower Awards for Excellence in Jewish Journalism Monday night, part of the 2024 American Jewish Press Association annual meeting. Both Cincy Jewfolk and TC Jewfolk – were competing in a digital-only category with the largest publishers in Jewish media.

The awards – both honorable mentions  – bring the total that Jewfolk has won to 12. TC Jewfolk has been competing in the Rockower Awards since 2019; this is the first year articles published on Cincy Jewfolk have been entered.

Award for Excellence in Personality Profiles: Unwilling Retirement: Gary Zola Talks Career, Legacy, Amid HUC Changes, by Lev Gringauz

Judge’s Comment: A comprehensive portrait of a man who has “lived his dream,” only to struggle with the effects of a changing climate and changing times. Well-written in its personification of how the Jewish world must continually adapt.
