Minnesota Hillel Announces New Executive Director

After a summer-long search, Emily Boskoff is the new executive director of Minnesota Hillel, the organization announced Friday morning. Boskoff replaces Benjie Kaplan, who left to become the Campus Support Director for Hillel International.

“It is an honor to join the Minnesota Hillel community and help grow their commitment to the Jewish community at the University of Minnesota,” said Boskoff. “I’m excited to rejoin the Hillel community, support Jewish students, and elevate their voices on campus. The future for Jewish students at U of M is bright, and continuing to build on the inclusive and supportive Hillel community is vital to their continued success.”

Boskoff will be moving to the Twin Cities from the Denver suburbs and starting on Sept. 30. She is coming to Hillel from BBYO, where she works as a community director covering the Rocky Mountain and Mid-America regions – the latter includes the North Star Region that is based at the Minnesota JCC Sabes Center Minneapolis.

Boskoff began her Hillel career in 2017 as the Director of Jewston – a program of Houston Hillel, before becoming the Assistant Director. After leaving Houston Hillel, she joined Hillel International as the Israel Education Regional Director.

At BBYO, Boskoff was recognized for her collaborative approach to achieving goals and her ability to connect with young Jewish students along their journey.

Mike Barry, who chaired the Minnesota Hillel search committee, said that throughout the search process, Boskoff gave the committee confidence in her abilities to guide the organization through the challenges for Jewish students on campus.

“Emily’s devotion to Jewish students has been clear throughout her career and we know that this will continue in her new role,” said Barry. “She knows what it will take to ensure that Minnesota Hillel continues thriving, and we believe in her vision in achieving this.”

“We are thrilled to welcome Emily back to the Hillel community as we go from strength to strength in the leadership at the University of Minnesota Hillel,” said Adam Lehman, President and CEO of Hillel International. “Emily has repeatedly shown her commitment and capability to connect with Jewish students and we know her energy will help transform the reach and engagement of Minnesota Hillel.”
