Do you want to make a difference for Israel, but don’t know what you can do?
Have you ever wanted to sit before your Congressional representative, and personally tell them why you want them to support Israel with their votes?
Do you want to hear our Congressional leadership and international leaders from around the world tell you what’s really going on in the Middle East, and where they really stand on Israel?
Then I’ve got just the event for you!
AIPAC Policy Conference 2011 is happening on May 22-24 this year, and you simply have to be there!
Leora Maccabee and I attended Policy Conference for TC Jewfolk last year, and it was amazing. (You can read our full coverage of the conference here).
The conference features amazing, world-class speakers; workshops led by the world’s best experts on any Israel-related subject you can imagine – from what’s really happening in Iran, to the growing Israel-Russia and Israel-China relationships, to how to best speak about Israel in the media; and most importantly, 7,500 people like you and me from all around the nation, coming together to publically voice their support for Israel, and walking together on Capitol Hill, to bring that support directly to their Senators and Representatives in Congress.
Nothing we can do in our daily lives can matter more than that – the chance to stand before your Congressman, and say “I am here, I am in your district, you represent me, and here is what I want my representatives to do in Congress.” If you believe in an active democracy – this is democracy in action, as it was meant to be.
Last year’s conference’s featured speakers included the Majority and Minority Leaders of the House, Secretary of State Hilary Clinton, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Speakers already scheduled for this year’s conference include:
- Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid
- House Speaker John Boehner
- House Majority Leader Eric Cantor
- House Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer
- Former CIA Director Jim Woolsey
- Former U.S. Ambassador to Israel Martin Indyk
AND
- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
There are many others in our community who attended the conference last year, or in past years. I’m certain you know many of them. And I am even more certain that any of them could tell you just how amazing an experience it really is. There is really nothing else like it. (If you are interested in speaking to a past attendee to find out first-hand what it’s really like, leave a note in the comments, and I’ll get you in touch with someone from last year’s delegation.)
