Justice-seeking Jews in the Twin Cities have a new reason to flip the cap of their Pepsi with gusto.
Thanks to Pepsi’s Refresh Everything campaign, Jewish Community Action (JCA) is in the running during the month of May to receive a $25,000 grant to support their foreclosure prevention work with allies in North Minneapolis. And YOU can help them win by voting at www.refresheverything.com each day, and entering the codes from Pepsi products for extra votes!
For 3 years, JCA volunteers have worked side by side with northside resident volunteers to connect residents with free foreclosure counseling, and to lobby for fair lending reforms from elected officials and banks. JCA has fundraised to help the coalition hire two northside residents as full-time organizers, as well as dedicating JCA staff- and volunteer-time to support the coalition. The $25,000 grant would help JCA continue to provide this support, and to help northside families avoid foreclosure.
In order to maximize the impact of your votes, JCA has joined the Progressive Slate, a group of nonprofit organizations that are working together to win the Pepsi Refresh Everything contest. The slate has included organizations working to help the homeless, provide food to the poor, combat human trafficking in the U.S., protect children from dangerous slum housing, provide nonprofit internships for low-income youth, and give young people access to life-saving health care. JCA is thrilled to be a part of this coalition, and we ask you to vote for us and others on the Progressive Slate to help us win this award.
