Plan for your Financial Future April 16 with JFCS NextGen

This is a guest post by Marc Ingber, Communications Specialist at JFCS Minneapolis.

Long-term financial planning and investment is a topic that is not always on the radar of 20- and 30-somethings. For some, the ability to buy a latte without over-drafting their checking account is a small victory.
But it’s never too early to have a long-term financial plan, regardless of how slim your wallet might be. JFCS NextGen is hosting a Personal Development Seminar, “Individual/Family Financial Planning & Investment,” Monday, April 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Stella’s Fish Café (1400 W. Lake St., Minneapolis).
Speakers at the seminar will include Jason Rose, financial advisor with RBC Wealth Management, Bradley J. Frank, partner with law firm Barnes & Thornburg LLP, and a representative from Affiance Financial.
They will discuss topics such as 401Ks, IRAs, risk-versus-reward investment strategies and more. They will also stress the importance of saving a little money each month, no matter what your income is.
Rose said his number-one priority as a financial advisor is to instill in each of his clients the knowledge to have a plan for achieving their financial goals. Frank concentrates his practice in estate and corporate planning, working with businesses and individuals through all their life stages.
The NextGen Program aims to actively engage young philanthropists ages 21-36. Part of its mission is to provide an opportunity for young professionals to grow personally and professionally through a variety of events, including seminars and a speaker series.
So on April 16, grab a beer and some appetizers at Stella’s and get tips on how to plan for your financial future. The event is free to NextGen members and $10 for non-members. You can join at the door. Your gift supports critically needed services specifically chosen by your peers on the NextGen Board.
