This is a guest post by Penny Schumacher, Assistant Director of the St. Paul Jewish Community Center.
Whether it’s “first comes love, then comes marriage, then comes baby in the baby carriage” or “first comes love, then comes commitment ceremony, then comes baby,” or “first comes baby, and the rest all follows,” the St. Paul JCC has got your back.
Having a new baby is a wonderful, exciting and sometimes scary time in a new parent’s life – there’s a ton to think about. Good thing the St. Paul JCC is thinking about all of that too.
They’ve got this new program this June called Hava Na Baby, which is designed to prepare parents for the experience of pregnancy, birth and parenting by weaving in the wisdom of Jewish ancestors. Over two class sessions, expectant parents can connect with each other as they share this transformative stage of life. The classes even integrate traditional childbirth education with Jewish learning that speaks to the moment.
The facilitators are great – Barbie Levine has worked as a Childbirth Educator and Doula for the last 20 years and Anna Marie Piccolo has over 25 years teaching experience in health, fitness and Parent Education classes.
Travel the journey to parenthood through a Jewish lens. Dinner is part of the deal so advanced registration is required. Call the St Paul JCC at 651.698.0751 or register online at http://www.stpauljcc.org.
