Maybe you’ve been a TC Jewfolk reader since we published our first article five years ago. Maybe you just learned about the organization this month when a friend of a friend shared on Facebook an article about Israel written by one of our passionate volunteer writers.
In either case you know that TC Jewfolk is dedicated to engaging, inspiring, and connecting the Twin Cities young Jewish community. TC Jewfolk has spent the last five years building a vibrant, online Jewish community in the Twin Cities via Jewish news, events and culture. We were, and remain an independent, non-profit start-up celebrating “a thousand ways to be Jewish.” Shockingly, TC Jewfolk is currently the only thing of its kind in not just the Twin Cities but the entire country!
After an intense strategic planning process funded by the generosity of an Innovation Grant from Minneapolis Jewish Federation, and two readership surveys looking at the unique and important role TC Jewfolk plays in our Jewish community (from the perspectives of our readers and of the Twin Cities’ Jewish organizational leaders), our Board of Directors has decided to take TC Jewfolk to the next level.
We’re talking about a dramatic expansion. It’s going to be amazing.
With support from our new members and Founder’s Circle contributors we are hiring a full-time Executive Director, as well as making our Editor full-time, so that we have two people fully devoted to growing and connecting the Twin Cities Jewish community.
Your tax-deductible donations will increase TC Jewfolk’s ability to develop, create, and manage fresh, engaging, and inspiring content on TC Jewfolk, and partner with local and national Jewish organizations to cover local news, Jewish issues, community programs, and events of interest.
Your sustaining support will ensure that TC Jewfolk can create and implement a vision for using social media technology and community-based journalism to engage young adults in all aspects of Twin Cities Jewish life. Whether through working in support of the state of Israel; furthering community collaboration between synagogues and organizations, rabbis, Jewish Professionals and lay leaders; developing community programming; and/or resource building for young adults; your support will help TC Jewfolk do it all.
Our goal is to raise $150,000 by December 31st, x 3. Will you join us?
We are not just asking for your support in 2014 – we are asking for your pledge to continue to support TC Jewfolk in 2015 and 2016 to ensure TC Jewfolk’s strength and sustainability as we make these critical hires and take our organization to the next level.
We have the good fortune of having a phenomenal group of “Founders” in our corner, and we are hoping that many of you will join them.
TC Jewfolk is thrilled to announce the launch of its Founder’s Circle. Founder’s Circle members have made a significant commitment to the financial strength and sustainability of TC Jewfolk with a 2014 donation of $1500 or more, or pledges of $500 or more for each of our pivotal next three years – 2014, 2015 and 2016. TC Jewfolk’s Founder’s Circle have already pledged over $38,000 to TC Jewfolk in 2014 alone.
