“We’ve been trying to get her for years and we’re lucky to have her,” said Rabbi Jeremy Fine. “We’re excited for her, not just because of her outspokenness on Judaism and Israel, but because she’s the most visible Jewish actress in bringing her Judaism to the forefront.
Bialik came to prominence as the title character in the 1990 TV show “Blossom” when she was 15-years old. She’s spent the last six seasons on “The Big Bang Theory.”
Past annual galas have featured Jewish comedians Jason Alexander, Mel Brooks and Richard Lewis. The event will also honor Temple of Aaron’s 30 past presidents as the synagogue celebrates 60 years in the Highland neighborhood of St. Paul. VIP ticket packages for the event include a meet-and-greet with Bialik, which will also have an array of local food and beverages.
