After a great Super Funday in 2018 (despite a snowstorm and an epic Vikings playoff game), the MJF campaign kickoff party is back at Punch Bowl Social in St. Louis Park.
The day is full of free family fun. And by free, they mean free. Food, bowling, foosball, giant Jenga, darts, karaoke, and more. New this year: a scavenger hunt for prizes with Tzacy and Tzan the Tzedakah Tzloths, and a decorate-your-own-donut bar!
“It’s going to be super,” laughs Jim Cohen, CEO of Minneapolis Jewish Federation. “But seriously, this year we’re going use the space to share with the community about a new and exciting giving opportunity at Federation – Impact Area Giving.”
Impact Area Giving, Cohen said, is a way for MJF to be responsive to donors’ requests that their donations go to specific program areas. The six areas are available to donors are: Jewish education, Creating a Caring Community (social services programs), Jewish Identity and Engagement (which includes the Israel Center, Hillel, Rimon, and Global Experience trips), Israel, and Overseas. This year there is a new area to help support Federation programs such as Harry Kay, Yesod, and YALA. Donations above $1,000 are eligible for Impact Area Giving.
“This is a day to get the family out, enjoy some games and great nosh, and truly celebrate what a strong community we’ve built,” Cohen said.
