Position Summary:
This is a part-time contract position (25-30 hours a week). The Communications and Program Associate will work with the Executive Director to develop and manage communications for the organization and to support the coordination of programs and events.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Digital communications
- Manage a robust presence on social media, including responses to breaking news, legislative developments, fundraising efforts, and organizational awareness building.
- Help prepare and disseminate regular electronic newsletters and eblasts, as needed
- Monitor accounts to see if there are messages or comments in need of response or posts from NCJW or partners/coalitions to amplify our reach
Website management & blog
- Update events, action opportunities, and other content as needed, with an eye on driving engagement and website traffic.
Program-support
- Create and share/post event or program announcements/promotion and registration forms in Bloomerang and/or Sign Up Genius, including confirmation email (as needed).
- Post to website or other locations
- Work with ED or a volunteer to coordinate details and participants for programs (monthly webinars or in-person programs, annual spring event, leadership development programs)
- Create/run reports within database, as requested.
Other
- Support the Executive Director in committee or coalition work as needed
- Help produce annual report
Experience and Qualifications Requirements:
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Proficient with website content management (WordPress)
- Proficient with database management
- Social media savvy and able to adapt to new technologies
- Excellent writing and communication skills
Qualities or Desired Qualifications
- Flexibility/ability to adapt to change
- Self-starter and proactive problem solver
- Experience with graphic design and light video editing
- Ability to work with volunteers and coalition partners
- Understanding of Jewish culture and/or familiarity with the Twin Cities Jewish community.
