Position Summary:

Bet Shalom Yeladim is an early childhood education program that provides a nurturing, play-based learning environment for young children. Located in Minnetonka, MN, the school emphasizes social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through developmentally appropriate practices. Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Lead Preschool Teacher is a full-time, on-site role based in Minnetonka, Minn. This educator designs and implements developmentally appropriate lesson plans and classroom activities that foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth. Daily responsibilities include guiding small- and large-group learning, managing classroom routines, and creating a warm, inclusive environment where each child feels safe and valued. The Lead Preschool Teacher observes and documents children’s progress, communicates regularly with families, and collaborates with colleagues and support staff to align curriculum and classroom practices. The role also includes preparing classroom materials, maintaining a clean and safe learning space, attending staff meetings and professional development, and following all licensing and school policies.

Qualifications:

  • Strong foundation in Early Childhood Education and experience working with preschool and kindergarten-age children.
  • Proficiency in Lesson Planning and Curriculum Development to create engaging, developmentally appropriate activities.
  • Excellent Communication skills for collaborating with families, colleagues, and administrators.
  • Ability to maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that respects diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
  • Relevant education, such as an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (or equivalent training as permitted by state licensing).
  • Knowledge of child development, age-appropriate practice, and classroom management strategies.
  • Current or obtainable certifications as required by state or local regulations (e.g., CPR/First Aid, mandated reporter training).
  • Reliability, professionalism, and willingness to participate in ongoing professional development.
