Want to be the next Sarah Silverman or Lewis Black? Submit your proposal this week to perform at Minneapolis’ first-ever Jewish Humor Festival this Spring.
The 2010 Minneapolis Jewish Humor Festival will combine one-act plays, one-person shows, music performances, stand-up routines, improvisational comedy, story-telling, film, visual art and more – all celebrating the Jewish contribution to the world of humor.
Jewish and non-Jewish artists and performers have until September 15th, 2009 to submit performance proposals to be considered for the Festival.
The festival will be similar to the Minnesota Fringe Festival, featuring 10 days of performances all hosted at the Sabes JCC in Minneapolis. The artistic advisory committee selecting the 10-15 winning Jewish comedy proposals includes, among others: Jewish actor Dylan Fresco, most recently seen in God’s Ear at the Red Eye Theater; David Jordan Harris, the Executive Director of Rimon: the Minnesota Jewish Arts Council; and RuthAnn Weiss.

If you are not the performing type, worry not. TC Jewfolk will be announcing the line up for the Festival once it is released this fall, and will be raffling off free tickets to the Festival in February. Stay tuned!
