You may or may not know that one of TC Jewfolk’s regular writers, Jenna Zark, is a professional playwright (among other things) when she is not writing her personal take on Jewish holidays for us. Her plays have been performed in the United States and Abroad, and now TC Jewfolk is thrilled to say, her new play “Alyeska” is having its World Premiere at Blank Slate Theatre in Saint Paul.
“Alyeska” is a ghost story in two acts; a drama about a navigating the world between life and death, souls, suicide, and perceptions of a world beyond. The show’s run is from April 16 – 24, 2010. Tickets are $12 for adults, and $9 for children/teens and seniors.
Join TC Jewfolk on Saturday night April 17th at 7:30pm for a night of theater, drinks and discussion with playwright Jenna Zark. We’ll watch “Alyeska” at Blank Slate Theatre, and then walk over to a private dining area at Cork’s Pub in the nearby Embassy Suites hotel for delicious appetizers, drinks and an informal Q & A about the show with Jenna, and probably a few members of the cast and crew as well. You buy your own tickets to the show and drinks at the bar – and we’ll cover the first round or two of (vegetarian) appetizers. Please RSVP (so we know how much food to plan for) to [email protected].
Alyeska will be performed at Blank Slate Theatre (in the basement of First Baptist Church,) 499 Wacouta Street in Saint Paul, 55101. If you can’t join us for the show on 4/17, go support Jenna by attending one of the other performance dates. Hope to see you on April 17th!
