Find Your Inner Yehuda Halevi and Win an iPad

Everyone wants an iPad.
But not everyone has heard of Yehuda Halevi the 11th century Spanish poet whose poems spoke of longing for the Jewish homeland (he died en route to what was then Palestine).
In honor of National Poetry Month, Tablet Magazine is offering you the chance to win your very own iPad (don’t bring it to Israel though, it will get confiscated). Here’s what you have to do.

  1. Find a Halevi poem that inspires you (here’s a link to a good collection online).
  2. Compose a song using Halevi’s lyrics, or create an illustration or video inspired by his writing; anything that applies your own creativity to interpret one of these poems.

Tablet Mag will select the best entries and post them to Nextbook Press and Tablet; one winner will be chosen to win an Apple iPad! You can publish your entry on your blog or website and send Tablet a link, or share it in the comments section of the article announcing the contest. The deadline to enter is April 26, and Tablet Mag will announce the winner on Poetry in Your Pocket Day, April 29.
Here are the full contest rules. Good luck!
