This is a guest post by the Jewish Community Relations Council of Minnesota and the Dakotas (JCRC).
The board of directors and staff of the Jewish Community Relations Council of Minnesota and the Dakotas (JCRC) extend our most sincere sympathies to the victims, friends, and family members impacted by the senseless violence in Milwaukee on August 5th.
Moreover, as American Jews, we stand in complete solidarity with our Sikh brothers and sisters at this horrific time. The right to peacefully practice our faith without fear of persecution, and live our lives in peace, are two of the most basic of rights that we have as Americans. Accordingly, when any religious minority becomes victim to such a horrific attack, it is incumbent upon all of us to come together as Americans and speak out in the strongest possible terms that such actions are completely unacceptable.
On Friday, August 10, at 7:00 p.m., the Sikh Society of Minnesota will hold a candlelight vigil at:
Gurudwara (Sikh Temple)
9000 W. Bloomington Freeway
Bloomington, MN 55431
Please show solidarity with the Sikh Community of Minnesota during this time of need.
