What Being Jewish is All About… Or, How To Win a Chef's Table at FACES

Being Jewish is about more than reading certain books, or believing in G-d, or even doing good deeds. It’s about food.
You can’t be Jewish unless you like food. I’m kidding, but not really.

Every Jewish holiday is somehow about food (or the absence of food). And our holidays about food often involve intricate meals to be shared with those nearest and dearest to us. Passover, the seder with mandatory four glasses of wine and the food that keeps on coming. Sukkot, where it’s a mitzvah to have guests over for meals. Tu B’shvat, the birthday of trees which also has a meal where we sample tree-provided foods like dates and grapes and nuts.

In the spirit of feeding you, and celebrating, and sharing food with loved ones, TC Jewfolk is proud to partner with Chef David Fhima and his restaurant FACES Mears Park to announce this week’s giveaway.
As we’re sure you know, on November 1st TC Jewfolk launched its most ambitious fundraising campaign ever. We need to raise $30,000 by the end of 2013 in order to fund our operating expenses for 2014, most importantly the salary of our awesome Editor & Community Manager Bradley Machov.
Thanks to your outpouring of support, we’ve already raised almost $10,000 in just two weeks!! (See for yourself at JEWCER.COM/TCJEWFOLK!)
But it’s not just about the total amount we raise. It’s about our community. This is the time of year when we ask you all to join us. To pledge your support for TC Jewfolk, and your commitment to and celebration of what we’re trying to do.
We want to be YOUR connection to everything Jewish in the Twin Cities. THE calendar with just the events in our Jewish community that YOU would want to attend. The ONLY place to read articles about everything from Israeli politics to Jewish food, written by other young people in our Jewish community. And so much more.  But we can’t do that without you.
So what does all this have to do with FACES in downtown St. Paul?
Imagine. The Chef’s Table at FACES. A Romantic, interactive, intimate seating for two in the kitchen of Faces. You and your guest will be entertained and inspired by David Fhima as you watch your food go from skillet to plate and then be the recipient of the savory adventure! This is a four-course, wine paired meal created exclusively for you and your guest.  It is a celebration of food, wine and friends.
