Silberman took the job less than a year ago. His family relocated to the Twin Cities from Louisville, Ky., where he spent five years as the CEO of the Jewish Community of Louisville, which included the Jewish Federation, the JCC, the JCRC and Hillel. Howard Zack has agreed to chair the search committee for a new CEO.
In the letter, signed by Linda Ketover and David Orbuch, the president and president-elect, respectively, of the Federation board, it said that the Federation’s current COO/CFO, Myra Giesener, will oversee the Federation’s daily operations. Tammy Kohn Marks, the head of the Financial Resource Development Department and Robin Neidorf, head of the Community Impact Department, will be continuing in their leadership roles. Debbie Stillman will head the marketing team.
The letter did not state a reason for Silberman’s departure. TC Jewfolk reached out to Ketover, Orbuch and Silberman seeking comment, but efforts to reach all three were unsuccessful. Silberman was featured here in TC Jewfolk’s ‘Who the Folk‘ in August 2015.
The Minneapolis Federation will be searching for a new CEO at the same time as their counterparts in St. Paul; last week Eli Skora announced his retirement after more than 16 years on the job.
