A few weeks ago it was brought to my attention that a bagel shop in New York was selling a Hanukkah bagel package on Goldbelly. For those of you who aren’t aware, Goldbelly is a service that allows you to order high-end/gourmet foods from restaurants across the country. Want pastrami on rye from a legit deli but you live in Owatonna? Goldbelly will deliver it to your door – at a premium of course.
So I immediately ordered the $89 Hanukkah bagel package. I figured it would be a nice follow-up to TC Jewfolk’s previous two attempts to find a decent bagel in town: First in 2012, and then again in 2018.
Let’s put the $89 price tag aside. The bagels from Baz are legit NYC bagels. The blue and white tie-dye makes them pretty, but a little distracting. That said, they would still be the best bagel in all of the Twin Cities.
The package comes with 1/2 pound of lox, 2 tubs of cream cheese, and 6 mini black and white cookies that are in fact blue and white as well.
For $89, this is a special occasion item, one for the kids, or a gift. There are many other bagel options on Goldbelly that provide more bang for the buck,
What’s your favorite bagel? Let’s order some and compare.
Oh, and Happy Hanukkah!
How do they compare to Zaber’s?
Zabar’s didn’t make their own bagels. They buy them from Davidovitch.
