Libby Parker, Jewfolk Exec. Director, Honored With Pearl Society Women of Intention Award

Last night, Libby Parker, Jewfolk, Inc.’s executive director, was honored as a “Voice of Inspiration” by the Pearl Society’s Woman of Intention awards through the Minneapolis Jewish Federation.

Parker was honored together with Susie Kaufman, Raleigh Kent, Myrna Marofsky, Mindy Daitchman, and Linda Weisberg Ketover, MD.

Each year, The Pearl Society awards six women in the community for their contributions to the Jewish world.

“These are women in our Jewish community who respond to injustice with intention — who apply their personal grit and gifts to some of the most difficult issues facing our community and the world — who are indeed Women of Intention,” the award site says.

Parker has been executive director of Jewfolk, Inc. since 2015 and has stewarded TC Jewfolk as it evolved from a Twin Cities Jewish community blog into a news, calendar, directory, and engagement hub for Minnesota.

She has overseen Jewfolk’s first regional expansion, in the form of Cincy Jewfolk, to serve the Jewish community in Cincinnati. Parker also led FolkMedia Consulting, part of Jewfolk, Inc., to become a powerhouse of social media and digital communications consulting for organizations ranging from JGirls+ Magazine and Lab/Shul, to local institutions like the Sholom Foundation and the Jewish Community Relations Council of Minnesota and the Dakotas.

Her profile for the Woman of Intention awards reads: “Her professional passions center around creating new initiatives from scratch, championing gender equity in Jewish organizations, and serving as a connector and network weaver.”

Parker’s pearl of wisdom is to “say what you mean and mean what you say because words build worlds.”

Congratulations from the entire Jewfolk team to our fearless leader!
