Stories from the Tribe Returns with More Jewish Joy, Real Talk, and Roaring Laughter in the Twin Cities

TC Jewfolk’s second annual storytelling show was pure magic!

On June 23, 2025, I felt so very lucky to be sitting amongst more than 500 people listening to the 12 stories told from the bima at TC Jewfolk’s live storytelling show, Stories from the Tribe.

It was an absolutely gorgeous night of Jewish storytelling!

Our community gathered together to laugh, cry, and bear witness to this show, these storytellers, and these stories.

If the roar of laughter and the collective sighs from the audience didn’t tell me that our community had come together for this beautiful night, the countless emails, texts, and requests to discuss the stories that the cast and I have received since the show did!

The concept of TC Jewfolk’s Stories from the Tribe live storytelling show is very simple:

A bima, a microphone, and a story.

Together, the 12 cast members’ stories told all of our collective story about being –or having– a Jewish mother in the Twin Cities.

The topics covered ranged from Brit Milah to B’Nai Mitzvah to –surprisingly perhaps– port a potties, and so very much more.

And the result left all of our hearts so very full.

The show and its storytellers gifted the audience an evening of togetherness and community that we were all so lucky to share – hearing the same stories, reacting as a group, participating oh-so-very fully in Jewish joy, and honoring a core value that TC Jewfolk holds very dearly:

Multiple entry points into Jewish life.

From moments of cheeks-hurting laughter to quiet thoughtfulness and everything in between, our community fell in love with this cast, these stories, and this show.

So much so that our 2026 storytelling show is already on the calendar to be back next year, when 12 brand new stories will be cast to be told on the bima.

Auditions will be held next spring.

Be sure to stay on our email list to be the first to know about all things Stories from the Tribe, including auditions and tickets.

Our third annual Stories from the Tribe show will be on June 22, 2026.

From beginning to end, this show upholds another one of TC Jewfolk’s core values: Storytelling, SIPUR SIPURIM.

As an organization, we believe that we have a sacred obligation to link past and future by sharing the Jewish stories of today.

And that’s exactly what we did –and will continue doing– together!

Our photographer, Sydnee Bickett Photography, captured small moments at the show.

I want to share just a few of them with you so that you can have a glimpse of what the evening felt like.
