Who The Folk?! Alyssa Golob

Alyssa Golob had more than three decades in Jewish communal work when she pivoted to Helping Paws, a service dog training organization. The organization was unwittingly thrust into the spotlight when Minnesota Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark, and their golden retriever Gilbert were assassinated last month in their home. Hortman had trained Gilbert to be a service dog at Helping Paws, and the couple adopted the dog after he didn’t pass the training course. Golob talks about how the organization has worked through the notoriety of the last six weeks, her transition to secular non-profit work, and the joy of riling up dogs, on this week’s Who The Folk?! Podcast.
