What do you do when you uncover some unsavory history about your hometown? If you’re Kirsten Delegard, you help start the Mapping Prejudice Project at the University of Minnesota. Delegard helps us kick off our series “Exodus and Equity: Reconciling the History of Minneapolis’ Jewish North Side” that examines the departure of the Jews to the suburbs, and the work of a couple of Jewish community groups that work outside the community to bridge differences and for the betterment of the Twin Cities. We talk about how the project got started, her family’s connection to restricted covenants in Minneapolis, and what she hopes people take away from the project, on this week’s Who The Folk?! Podcast.
