Many of my Jewish friends do little, to absolutely nothing, to attach themselves to the Jewish world outside of having Jewish friends. The assimilation rate is rampant. Studies have shown this is partly due to the millennials viewing their Judaism the same as any other part of their life, and their fear of labels – being too religious or too Jewy.
On Sunday, August 10 it’s Israeli Valentine’s Day! From 5:30 – 7 PM all single Jews ages 18-36 are invited to a free, exclusive event at the home of Sam and Sylvia Kaplan. RSVP because space is limited.

Everyone loves Harel. He is just one of those people that make you smile, laugh, and want to be around. Good egg, good energy, good boy. In fact, we still call him Yeled Tov (good boy), even though he’s an extraordinary young man with facial hair.

The conflict between Israel and Gaza is, and always has been, more nuanced than we sometimes like to admit. And we do ourselves a disservice by not at least acknowledging that. But if peace is our goal, we need to start.
